The best time to visit Delhi is from October to March when the average temperature between 15°C and 25°C. Till November, city excursion is calming and pleasant. Qutub Minar: Located in Mehrauli, Qutub Minar is the tallest individual tower in the world and the second tallest monument in Delhi. It was built in 1192 by Qutub-ud-din-Aibak, the first ruler of the Delhi Sultanate. The beautiful minaret is a classic example of Indo Islamic architecture and is perfect getaway for architecture lovers.
Red Fort: Red fort or formerly known as ‘Quila-e- Mubarak’ is located in the center of the city. It was constructed by Shah Jahan in the year 1939 and has derives its name from its magnificent and stout red sandstone walls. This monument is now home to museums that has precious artifacts on display.
Lotus Temple: It was built in 1987 by the followers of Bahai faith. The temple signifies the purity and equality of all religions. Shaped like a lotus flower with 27 intricately-carved marble petals, it is one the famous tourist attraction in Delhi.
Humayun’s Tomb: Located in the Nizamuddin East area of Delhi, it is the first garden tomb in the Indian subcontinent and is the final resting place of the Mughal Emperor Humayun. This magnificent tomb sits in the middle of a huge Mughal Garden and its beauty is only enhanced during the winter months.
Connaught Place: One of the busy parts of the capital city, Connaught Place, also known as ‘CP’ is perfect place to enjoy your night life. You can visit to cafes such as Privee, Farzi Café, Odeon Social, Lord of the Drink etc which will definitely make your party happening.
Gurgaon: Gurgaon also known as Gurugram is perfect for those who do not have to worry about a hole in your pocket. The market is a hub for a number of local merchants, food corners, Lucknowi embroidered outfits and the mehndiwallahs that makes the place very famous.
Chandani Chauk: The lifeline of Old Delhi, Chandani Chowk is the best whole sale market that offers the tourist the perfect picture of Delhi. The congested streets and the street food there adds exotic flavor to the place. The kinari bazaar, mina bazaar, parathawali gali, chawri bazaar all together displays the different items one can shop. By Air : The nearest airport to Delhi is Indira Gandhi International Airport and 16kms from the city. It is well connected to major cities of India as well as Abroad. From Mumbai to Dubai or from Bangalore to Beijing, one can easily find flights for Delhi from any corner of the world.
By Road : Delhi serves as the main station for Northern railways. It has five major stations namely- Delhi Junction Railway Station, New Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, Anand Vihar Railway Terminal and Delhi Sarai Rohilla Railway Station. These stations have connectivity to most parts of the country and serve millions of passengers every day.
By Railways : Delhi is connected to various national highways including NH1, NH2, NH8, NH 10 and NH24. There are private as well as state buses which run to and from Delhi to other major parts of the city.
Delhi is blessed with five seasons- summer, monsoon, autumn, winter and spring and has a humid-tropical and semi-arid climate. The summer season start in April and end in May, when the temperature soars to 45 degrees. The monsoon lasts from June to September and makes the weather more pleasant and cool. Autumn arrives in October and lasts till late November. The temperature cools down to 20 °C, relieving people from the hot weather. Winter season lasts from December to February and is perfect season to enjoy the chilly winds. Spring season, which lasts from February to March, makes the city look lively and beautiful.
